From the heart racing thrillers to heartbreak, cricket has often been a centre of attraction among the die-hard fans. So, before taking a look at the top 10 batsmen with fastest fifty in ODI cricket, let’s discuss how cricket in itself has engaged millions on the international level.

Over the years, the International Cricket Council (ICC) doing its best to keep the game clean and the cricketers on the other side made it to the record books.

From the enticing spells to marathon of a knock, cricket has been more than a beautiful game. Well, as the bowlers have been fun to watch equally the batsmen have had rose to the occasion–to play some magnificent strokes to leave one and all in awe.

On the other side, the fast-paced cricket has now become a norm with batsmen ruling the roost.

To talk about the batsmen with fastest fifty in ODI cricket, South Africa National Cricket Team batsman AB de Villiers has maintained the world record with his sensational power-hitting against the Windies.

In 2015, de Villiers played a jaw-dropping 149-run knock which was laced with 16 sixes and nine fours at Johannesburg. He faced just 16 balls to smash the fastest ODI fifty. And with this, he surpassed Sri Lanka National Cricket Team star Sanath Jayasuriya’s 17-ball 50-run record which came way back in 1996 against Pakistan at Singapore.

The attacking cricketer Jayasuriya scored 76 in no time with the help of eight fours and five sixes. The southpaw is second on the list of batsmen with fastest fifty in ODI cricket.

Martin Guptill of New Zealand National Cricket Team is listed fourth among the batsmen with most fours in ODI cricket.

Moreover, Pakistan National Cricket Team’s former skipper and star all-rounder Shahid Afridi finds the mention thrice on the top ten list of players with the fastest half-century in the 50-over format.
